When managing your DeadPoly server, you may occasionally encounter an issue where the server loads an incorrect world, displays a different map than expected, or fails to restore the world associated with your existing save file. This can happen after changing world settings, modifying server configuration files, restoring a backup, switching maps, or making changes to the server's saved data. In some cases, the server may continue loading a previously saved world instead of the one you intended to use, even after updating the relevant settings. Troubleshooting incorrect world loading is important to ensure that your DeadPoly server starts with the correct map and preserves your existing world progress. Depending on the cause, you may need to review your server configuration, verify the selected world or save file, check the contents of your server's save directory, or restore the appropriate backup. It is also important to avoid deleting or overwriting existing save files before identifying the source of the problem, as doing so could result in the permanent loss of your world data. This guide walks you through troubleshooting incorrect world loading on your DeadPoly server. You will learn how to review your server settings, verify the correct world and save data, and identify potential configuration or save file issues that may prevent your server from loading the expected world. By following these troubleshooting steps carefully, you can work toward restoring the correct world while minimizing the risk of losing your existing progress.

Fixing Your Server Loading the Wrong Saved World

1. While in-game, log in to your Game Control Panel and perform a Manual Backup to preserve your current world data.

Once the backup is complete, stop your server before proceeding with any further changes.

2. Once the backup is complete, stop your server before proceeding with any further changes by clicking the Stop button.

3. Navigate to the File Manager section.

4. In the File Manager, navigate to the /DeadPoly/Saved/SaveGames directory to access your server's saved game files.

5. Locate the ManualSave.sav and AutoSave.sav files. Rename AutoSave.sav to a unique filename, such as AutoSave_old.sav, to preserve the original file as a backup and prevent it from being overwritten.

6. Rename ManualSave.sav to AutoSave.sav to allow the server to load the manual save as its automatic save file.

7. Start your server and verify that it loads the correct world with the expected saved progress.

(Note: Ensure you are working in the correct directory, /DeadPoly/Saved/SaveGames, and not within a subdirectory. After renaming the save files, verify that no duplicate AutoSave.sav files remain in the folder.)
