Whether you’re looking to tame creatures for farming, collect rare companions, or simply explore what the game has to offer, learning how to capture animals on your server opens up a whole new layer of gameplay. The process is straightforward once you know the basics, and with the right approach, you’ll be rounding up critters in no time. In this guide, we’ll walk through the essentials so you and your friends can make the most of your Hytale adventures.
Taming Wildlife on your Hytale Server
1. Craft a Workbench.

2. Open the Workbench and switch over to the Crafting tab.

3. Craft yourself a Farmer’s Workbench.

4. Upgrade it to Tier 2 to unlock more advanced recipes and features.

5. Open up your Farmer’s Workbench and head over to the Farming tab.

6. Go ahead and craft a Capture Crate. This will be essential for catching animals.

7. Drag the Capture Crate into your hotbar slot, this way you can quickly access it when you’re out catching animals.

8. Explore your surroundings until you spot an animal. This will be the target for your Capture Crate.

Aim at the animal and left‑click with your Capture Crate to secure it.

9. After securing the animal with the Capture Crate, bring it to your player base, where it can be released and managed.

10. To set the animal free, simply left‑click while holding the Capture Crate.
