Managing item weight is an important aspect of customizing the inventory and survival experience on your Palworld server. By default, items have specific weight values that determine how much inventory space they consume when carried by players. Depending on your server's playstyle, these default values may feel too restrictive or too generous, particularly when players are gathering large quantities of resources, transporting materials, or preparing for extended exploration. Palworld allows server owners to modify the Item Weight settings to change how much items contribute to a player's overall carry weight. Adjusting this setting can provide greater flexibility for players who frequently collect resources or, alternatively, create a more challenging survival experience where inventory management plays a larger role. For example, reducing the item weight multiplier can allow players to carry more resources without reaching their weight limit as quickly. Increasing the multiplier has the opposite effect, causing items to take up more weight and making inventory management more important. This makes the setting useful for a variety of server types, whether you're creating a relaxed PvE environment, a challenging survival server, or a customized experience for your community. In this guide, we'll walk you through how to modify the Item Weight settings on your Palworld server using the server's configuration file. You'll learn where to locate the relevant setting, how to adjust its value, and how the multiplier affects the amount of weight items add to a player's inventory. Before making any changes, we recommend creating a backup of your server configuration files. This provides a restore point in case an incorrect value is entered, or you later decide to return to your previous settings. Once your changes have been saved, restart your Palworld server to ensure the updated item weight settings are properly loaded.
Modifying Item Weight Settings
1. Log in to your Game Control Panel.
2. Before making any modifications, stop the server from running by clicking the Stop button.

3. Navigate to the Configuration Files section.

4. In Configuration Files, look for the Pal\Saved\Config\WindowsServer\PalWorldSettings.ini file and click the Text Editor beside the Config Editor.
5. In the Text Editor, locate the Item Weight Multiplier setting and enter the desired multiplier value according to your preferences. This value determines how much weight items contribute to a player's inventory.
If the parameter is not already present in the configuration file, you can add it manually at the end of the settings. Make sure the parameter is entered using the correct format and syntax to ensure it is properly recognized by the server.

6. After editing, click Save to apply the changes.

You can now start playing on your server.
