This guide will show you how to protect your server.
Currently, there is no method to password-protect a server, although the game creators do prioritize making it possible.
However, you can whitelist the server so that only those whitelisted can enter. To set this up, just follow the steps below:
1. Login to your game panel.
2. In your game panel navigate to Configuration Files > whitelist.txt
2. Inside this file, enter (on separate lines) the SteamID64s of anyone you want to be able to enter the server.

3. Save the file then reboot the server.
