Warning: This is a very long process that will take several hours. You MUST NOT join your server during the patching process or you will corrupt your local game files and have to reinstall the game on your system.

        Tutorial Difficulty: Advanced

Estimated time to carry out custom map install per section:

Start at 0:00hr
Deploy the map20 minutes
Upload the new terrains files: 40 minutes
Patch the server with them: 4 hours
Refresh the Animals Spawn points : 2 hours (middle amount of spawning points at 50 of 100 setting)
Total time of web navigation: 20 minutes
End at 08:47hr

7 hours 20 minutes of process if you're patient.... much more if you don't respect the steps and break the process.

1/ Make sure your server is new, without any previous data.

It is recommended to do a fresh reinstall for a new map, access the Game Panel then click "Actions tab" and click "Reinstall"

In your Game Server panel, go to "Configuration files" Then click "Graphical editor"

Set: NO Animals spawns and day cycle to 1
As the server is refreshing itself every midnight in-game day, we will need the shortest cycle for the next patches)

Restart your server, this will now take around 5-10 minutes and i recommend adding it to your favourites list.
(More easier now, as you could recognise it with the stats)

2/ Link your Citadel Servers Life is Feudal Server to Feudal Tools website

Here for registration:
https://feudal.tools/index.php?s=custommaps&sub=ttcm
------------------------------------------------
Basic Account Untrusted:
As you could see an account in Feudal Tools registered with a young Steam account lead to an account with restrictions, you can't download the maps on your computer but you could deploy maps on your hosted server accross their site (we will see how later)

Get your IP and Game Port from the front of Game Panel service page

Access the "File Manager" section and click "edit" on config_local.cs file.

This is the file that contains all the MariaDB connection information to your server's database.

Once you have this information, proceed to /config/ and locate your world_XXX.xml file ( It will say something else besides the XXX.

proceed to the Feudal tools website, login and click "Add Server"

Enter in the information it requests.

Go to your DASHBOARD in Feudal Tools, click on ADD SERVER

Connection Info:

Gameserver Address: Ipoftheserver:port (CItadel Servers Dashboard)

Database User: Database Username

Database Password: Database User Password
Deploying the map
4/ On Feudal Tools Website, choose your map:

It is recommended you choose an already developed map, developing your own map if you are not used to modding can have many bugs/issues and may take many attempts to get right.

5/ Deploying the map :

6/ What deploying looks like

Select your server you add in the Dashboard of Feudal Tools and deploy.

You could see the progression in the Dashboard:

7/ View the results after above 20 minutes for the map i choosed:

Then follow the next step....

Prepare your server to be patched for the new map
8/ Change the terrains files:

Extract them:

9/ Upload the new Terrains Files in your Server:

Citadel Servers Game Panel

Click on "File Manager"

Proceed to the following directory: /data/terrains

You will see old files there from the 2014 version.

Upload the new Terrains Files :

Click "Upload" and upload the new files, you can also use FTP to do this, which is the preferred/recommended method.

Wait for the files to be uploaded. This may take some time depending on size, if you run into issues e.g. unable to load, use the FTP method as these are very big files.

Patch your server
10/ Starting the server again.

Once uploading of the terrain files is complete, you can start your server. Check and validate that it has started correctly.

11/ Wait to see Up your server to come online ingame, recommended to find it in favorites.

After 4 hours, next step --->

Reset the Animals Spawns emplacements for the new map
13/ The 13th Step.... Could be a damned number, the step where you could..... restart all the process if you're tempted by Evil.....

Don't login to your server yet, once you validate the started started and can be queried ingame, stop your server again.

14/ Set the number of animals spawns you want (0-100, the higher the number, the longer the server will take to start and the longer you will have to wait)

15/ Erase the animals spawns files :

Proceed to the Game Panel then click "File manager" then navigate to /data/navmeshes/

Then delete the file called nm1.mesh

This file is the Animal spawn file.

/16 Restart your server, it will refresh it :

This can take some time complete as it generates everything.

How long for your New Map and possible client error
17/ Check your LIF YO favorites list waiting your server to show up:

If the patching process has been completed successfully, you can now proceed to join your server, if everything worked correctly you should be able to join, see custom minimap without issue.

18/ Possible client error:

Kick Reason: "CRC check failed. Repair Needed"

If this happens, it means there is corrupted files on your client machine, likely because you joined the server while it was patching. You will need to uninstall your client game, delete any files in your LIF:YO directory and reinstall it as it's your local game that has the issue, not the server as you would have recieved corrupted patch files (Which were not ready to be downloaded yet)
